Senior Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Efficiently manage financial reporting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Conduct detailed analyses of financial statements and reports, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with various departments to ensure financial goals are met.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to support financial integrity and stability.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Liaise with external auditors and participate in audits, ensuring all financial operations are transparent and compliant.
- Implement and optimize accounting systems and processes, with a particular focus on QuickBooks efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist with tax preparation and planning, minimizing liabilities and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Serve as a financial advisor to the management team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential; certification in QuickBooks is a plus.
- Previous experience in accounting for insurance brokers is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
